9 Months

We finally have a crawler.  Avery decided to put off crawling until she was absolutely sure it was worth her time.  So she waited and waited, practicing daily, until Nana came to visit and decided then it was time.  We were at Gymboree when it happened.  She did it four more times before Nana had to board a plane to go home.  It was so exciting!

Avery's nine month well visit was this week and she is growing perfectly.  Her height is 28.75" (87.09%), weight 19 lb 8.5 oz (64.02%) and head is 17.6" (71.81%).  We had been thinking she was tall because although she can still wear size 6 month tops, she is outgrowing her 9 month bottoms and comfortable in 12 months.  No idea where she gets that from.  I guess my dad and uncle Brad.

We've had a great month.  Avery has been eating solids twice a day, but we're moving her up to three now.  She is "talking" a lot more and for the first time this weekend said "momma" and looked directly at me (my heart melted).  She's said "momma' several times, but I think it was the first time she made the association.  She's been saying "dada" for months now and I think had him figured out around 8 months.  She can also go from the laying down position to sitting up by herself now.  That is a new skill learned within the last week.

We took Avery to the park and she had her first swing ride earlier in the month.  She was not a fan.  But, we gave it another try a few weeks later and she LOVED it.  See pictures below.

Avery also got tubes put in her ears.  She did wonderful.  She didn't fuss at all after waking up from the procedure and was ready to play by the time we got home. However, she does not like the ear drops we have to give her to fight off infections.

The weather has been absolutely amazing so we've been spending a lot of time outdoors.  I tried to run with Avery in her Citi Mini stroller but that didn't work so well, so we invested in the BOB stroller and it is wonderful.  I fully intend on taking Avery on runs over the next few months (until it gets too hot).  She loves it.  She just loves to be outside checking everything and everyone out.

We've also gone to dinner with friends several times this month which has been nice for mom, dad and baby.  Avery has a BFF that keeps her very entertained throughout dinner.  Julia, Andrew & Tana's daughter, will entertain Avery for hours.  They get the biggest kick out of each other.

I know this blog is supposed to be about Avery, but the house remodel is partly for her so we can talk about that on the blog too.  We moved into an apartment over Christmas and are really enjoying the open floor plan and location.  The house has been under construction now for 4 weeks and so far it's been demoed, leveled and framing has begun.  It is all very exciting.

With my friend Julia.  We wear each other out.

Oh my, this is so fun!
Swinging with Nana.

I'm crawling!

Nana came to visit.

After my tubes were put in.  My eyes were really red.
So curious.
This sums me up.  Happy, two teeth and a couple of curls in my hair.

House demo.
