House Progress

The house is such a big project that it deserves a post of it's own.   It is looking great.  It started off with a bang - demolition, framing, roof, windows then nothing...or so it appears.  The first bit of work yielded so much to see.  Now they are working on HVAC, plumbing and electrical which of course we don't really "see" so if feels like we're at a stand still.  We did get the fireplace installed this week which is obviously a must in Houston.  We're still on schedule though so hopefully it will be ready to move in by mid/late June.  Here are lots of pictures:

View from our former dinning room.  Opened up the walk way and new door installed to "east wing".

Downstairs guest bath.

View from the front sitting room into the back of the house.  Yes, that is a toilet in the dinning room.

Former study, future guest room and eventually Avery's room.

View from entry to the kitchen.  Where the addition begins.

View from dinning room through butler's pantry.

View from new kitchen.  Looking at kitchen nook and owner's entry.

View from new family room to front of house.

We still have a backyard.

Back of house.

Another view of back of house.

One more.

Master bedroom upstairs.

3 windows overlook White Oak.

Doors from our master leading onto the balcony that overlooks downtown.

Jason and Avery in the hall to the bathroom.

Bathroom where the tub will be.

Opposite view of bathroom.  Toilet room, shower and vanity.

Upstairs nursery and eventually study once Avery moves downstairs.

View from the nursery/study.
