Long Overdue

I haven't posted in forever, because I haven't had time.  So, here is a quick update: 

October was busy with Pumpkin patch (it rained, so no good pictures), OU/TX weekend, painting pumpkins, carving pumpkins, Halloween and a visit from Nana.  I had a work trip to Oakland the last week of October, so Jason had the girls with a little help from Dede.

       

November we had the girls' Fall Festival at school, complete with a camel.  (Avery wouldn't ride it).  We had the Lights in the Heights Gala, followed by an impromptu post "whip & nay nay" party.  (Needless to say, the night got a little carried away), Zoo Lights with the Holcombes and Thanksgiving.

For Thanksgiving we went to Jason's parents in Pflugerville and then on to Ft. Worth to my cousin Jesse's.  Avery played with lots of cousins, ranging from 3 to 9 years old.  I'm happy to report she played great with all of them. 

December has been non-stop with work for both me and Jason, so sadly we haven't been able to really enjoy the holidays as much as we'd like.  We had breakfast with Santa at Jackson Walker on the 5th and visited Santa's Wonderland on the 6th.  Avery is so excited about Santa this year and is a big fan of our elf, Max.  

     

Our Lights in the Heights party was a hit again this year.  Unfortunately, there was a lot of uncertainty because of the weather, but the rain held off just enough for us to have our party.  We were supposed to go to the Holcombes' Tacky Sweater Party, but Jason had to work all weekend, including Saturday night.  We're both trying to simply get to a stopping point at work so we can have a few days off for Christmas. 

Christmas will be wonderful this year since we'll get to see everyone on both sides of the family. Avery is certain Santa is bringing her a pink car.  Sadly he is not.  If only we didn't live in the middle of the city, she had a place to ride it and we had a place to store it.  She shouldn't be disappointed though with all the other stuff Santa has in store for her. 

Emily is still as sweet as ever.  She hit the six month mark, started sitting up, eating solids and babbling non-stop. She has a lot to say.

We took Avery ice skating for the first time.  She liked it, but only went around the rink twice.  She said she wants to go again though. 

 

We are looking forward to ringing in the New Year in Galveston with the Holcombes then onto a wonderful new year filled with family and travels.  We have a lot to look forward to.
