October

Life is always going to be busy for us, so I'm going to just quit stating the obvious.  Since the last post, Jason went to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival (and loved it, obviously), we had family visit, OU/TX game (ugh...), my first Bat Mitzvah and a family outing to a Dynamo game (both Avery & Emily's first).

Brett, Caleb, DeeDee & Pops visited the first weekend in October.  It was such a great visit; we hadn't seen Caleb since Christmas and Brett since May.  It was their first time to meet Emily.  It was a nice relaxing weekend and quality time with everyone.  Avery loved playing with Uncle Brett & Uncle Caleb and the weather was AMAZING!!!!

The girls are both doing well at school.  Of course Emily has had a cough for the past three weeks, but that is to be expected in a new social environment.   Avery loves her teachers and ballet & tap. She is learning to write in class. She knows how to write and spell her name, but is learning how to write the rest of the alphabet.

Emily had her four month check up and weighs 15lb .6oz (64%), is 25" long (67%) and her head is 16.61" (87%).  Her sweet little head is so big that if a shirt does not have buttons it wont fit over her noggin.  How cute is that?!  No new milestones this month, just practicing rolling over and giggling.

Avery still loves her big sister and cannot do enough for her.  The relationship is actually such a beautiful thing to witness.  I just hope they grow up to be best friends and like each other throughout their teenage years.

Next up for us is the pumpkin patch, Halloween (Avery is going to be Cinderella, Emily an owl), Lights in the Heights Gala, Fall Festival then Thanksgiving. I also have a work trip next week and the second week in November.

First and hopefully last trip to E.R.

Checking out the new Buffalo Bayou Park.

The only pictures you'll see from school picture day this year.

Guess these weren't lucky dresses this year.

Play date with little Charlie.

Our first Bat Mitzvah party

4 months and growing.

No better place to take a nap.

Avery loved the game (or just the popcorn).
