Busy Bees

We've been going non-stop these past three weeks and have been having a blast.  The weather has been amazing and we've been outside as much as possible.   Minus all the pollen in the air, it is PER-FECT!

Jason's birthday was on the 25th. We had a yummy dinner with Avery at Good Dog, then home for cake and presents.   Jason was very excited to get his authentic USA World Cup jersey.   Avery did a great job selecting his gift this year.

We started swim lessons a couple of weeks ago and have two lessons under our belt.  Avery is a little timid of the water, but enjoys watching her friends play in it (there is a future Olympian, William, swimming with us).

We went to Galveston with the Holcombes and the girls had a blast playing in the sand together.  Avery loved getting dirty in the sand, but was unsure about putting her feet in the ocean.   We'll work up to that hopefully.

Daddy and Avery had a bike ride in the rain for Houston Streets - a street festival where they close off roads to traffic to encourage outdoor activities.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate that day, but a lot of people still turned up.  Just another awesome example of our Heights neighborhood.

We went to Houston Zoo and had breakfast with the Easter Bunny.  Avery was very interested in him and would wave from afar and say "hi", but had zero interest in sitting on his lap for a picture.  We were sneaky though and got one of the entire family and the Easter Bunny.  She did like the real bunny though.

Avery also had another boo-boo, this one a bit more serious though!  Eeek!  We were rolling around on the bed, which we do all the time, and this time she rolled right off - landing on her face.  She busted her lip so bad.  Poor baby girl..when we picked her up blood just started gushing from her mouth.  Jason and I were freaking out.  A. was a trooper though, only crying for a few minutes then was over it.  She has had a swollen lip for a couple of days though.

A few other Avery facts: She is starting to say two word sentences such as "bye-bye mommy/daddy" and "mommy's keys".  Her favorite word is still "no", she is completely capable of listen, understanding and following directions, she loves music and dancing and had her first lollipop this past week (while getting her second haircut).  She is always a happy, happy girl but will definitely throw a tantrum when she doesn't get her way or is told no.

Always smiling

I love this picture; it is so Avery.  Miss Independent saying "I got this daddy!"

Grand Caymans coming soon…
