Fall 2014

We've been going non-stop since our last post.  Luckily, both my work and Jason's have slowed down which means more family time and less stress.   

So much has gone on over the past couple of months, so I'll quickly recap each: 

First, we did a farm tour with our friends.   The farm was great.  It was a nice cool morning and our friends Ruthie & Adam, Meredith & Christopher and Stephanie & Randy were all there.  We took a hay ride into the field where there was a corn maze.  Avery LOVED the corn maze.  

Then we had the pumpkin patch.  Several of the kiddos made it (it's nearly impossible to get all 6 together).  Avery loved the pumpkins but naturally did not want to sit still for the pictures.  We got a few that are keepers though.

Next were three Halloween parties, a visit from Grandma and Grandpa and another visit from Nanna and Pappa Stretch.  The Holcombe's Halloween party was lots of fun.  They had a bouncy-house at the party which Avery loved and all but one of the kids made it.  She was Tinkerbell this year and Nanna made the costume.  Her best friend Maddie was Tinkerbell too.

On Halloween we were going to go Trick-or-Treat to a few houses but Avery had a meltdown and wanted no part of it.  I could hardly blame her though, by this time she had been in her costume for 2 hours and it was her third time to wear it.

  

In November Jason and I ran the half marathon in San Antonio.  Pops and Grandma came in to watch Avery while we ran.  I set a personal record and was pretty happy about that.   My goal is to run 10 1/2 marathons.  I'm two down.  

For Thanksgiving we went to New York to visit Uncle Brett & Uncle Caleb.  Grandma and Pops came up too.  It was cold but we had a lot of fun.  Avery visited FAO Swartz, went to Central Park, took a carriage ride through Central Park, saw lots of store windows decorated for Christmas and had her picture taken with Santa at the Plaza Hotel.  She had her own seat on the plane and did great.   She's definitely going to be a little traveler, which is why Santa is bringing her her own suitcase for Christmas.

We had our six annual Lights in the Heights party a few weeks ago and it was a zoo.  We invited a lot more people this year to celebrate the new house too, but it seems like everyone has kids now so it was a mad house (a fun one though).  We had a bouncy-house in the back yard which the kids loved to play on.   

The camera battery was dead for the party, but this is Avery in the bouncy house the day after the party. 

We visited Santa's Wonderland which is outside of College Station.  Avery was in a very rare and fussy mood so it was a bit challenging at times.  It will definitely be something we do again and something she will love even more next year.  We did get a family photo with Texas Santa and an even funner photos with the Williams & Holcombes.  Stephanie accidentally bought two of the same dress so the girls were dressed alike and several times throughout the evening were mistaken as twins.  They are two little peas in a pod, so you can easily understand why people could mistake them for twins.  With them, it's monkey see, monkey do.  They are so cute together.  

Christmas is this week and we have the Oklahoma family coming in for four days then we're off to visit Texas family in Austin.   Until then....Merry Christmas.
